David Robert Joseph Beckham is a former professional football player from England. During his days as a player, he became one of the most famous footballers in the world due to his successful stints at some of the most famous clubs in the world and also because of his skills as a midfielder that raised him above the standards of many. Of his contemporaries, Beckham started as a soccer player in his hometown of London and played for some local clubs before getting into the youth player training scheme at Manchester United. David Beckham was born on May 2, 1975, in Leytonstone, London, England, to David Edward Alan Beckham and Sandra Georgina. His father worked in the kitchen while his mother was a hairdresser. He was the second of three children in the family. The other two are daughters. He attended Chase Lane Elementary School as a child and then went on to attend Chingford County High School.
David Beckham went to try out at various clubs including Norwich City and Leyton Orient before enrolling in the School of Excellence at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. He also played for the Brimsdown Rovers and featured during his season there. However, his life really changed when he was accepted into the youth coaching program at Manchester United in 1991.
