Rakim Mayers, better known by his stage name ASAP Rocky, is an American songwriter and rapper. After joining the hip-hop group “A $ AP Mob”, he adopted the stage name ASAP Rocky. He is named after hip-hop artist Rakim, half of the duo, Eric B and Rakim. From a poor kid living in a neighborhood full of crime to an international rapper, Rocky has come a long way. He had a difficult childhood, taking refuge in the countryside with his mother and sister.
